Imara International partners with BMW of Minnetonka on Hole-in-One Sponsorship
MAPLE GROVE, MN (May 9, 2014)— Golfers and enthusiasts have the opportunity to enjoy a day on the greens with a chance at driving away in a 2014 BMW donated by BMW of Minnetonka at the third annual Imara International charity golf tournament, set for Monday, July 28, at Rush Creek Golf Course in Maple Grove, Minn.
The tournament is being held by Imara International, a local non-profit organization that works with Kenyan teenage mothers to provide education and life skills along with early childhood education for their children.
“This year Imara is proud to partner with BMW of Minnetonka as a premier sponsor of the golf tournament, with a Hole-in-One sponsorship. Tournament participants will be able to swing for car keys on one Par 3 hole this year,” said David Ching, Imara golf tournament chairman.
The golf tournament is unique from others as it benefits young mothers and their children in Africa. Imara House, the location of the organization in Nanyuki, Kenya currently has eight mothers and seven children that are benefitting from this organization and the work being done on site and back here in the United States. The Twin Cities-based board of directors works on various programs and events to help raise funds and support to benefit the actions taking place in Kenya. The driving force behind Imara is empowering these Kenyan mothers through education to build a self-sufficient future for themselves, their children and their community.
BMW of Minnetonka believes in the importance of supporting and giving back to the community through outreach. The staff at BMW of Minnetonka is happy to be a part of the Imara golf tournament this year, and excited for a golfer’s chance at one of their premium vehicles.
“We are pleased with the opportunity to work with BMW of Minnetonka again, as they were supporters of our car wash drive last summer,” added Ching. “This partnership allows both Imara and BMW of Minnetonka to show our outreach support in the community, while also having some fun on the greens.”
Presently, sponsorships range from $10,000 for event sponsors to $150 for golf participants. Each sponsorship opportunity includes levels of recognition and involvement at the tournament. For further information on sponsorship levels and involvement, go to www.imarainternational.org.
The tournament is set for July 28 at Rush Creek Golf Course in Maple Grove, MN, with registration beginning at 11:30 a.m. and a shotgun start at 1 p.m. A dinner and awards program will follow the conclusion of the tournament. Additional contests taking place during the day will include Beat the Pro and Buy a Drive.
