Hole-in-one Winner Gives Back to Imara

Imara International’s golf outing winner donates proceeds back to teen moms

MAPLE GROVE, MN (August 9, 2019) – The Eighth Annual Imara International Charity Golf Tournament brought golfers together, Monday, July 29th, to benefit Imara, a rescue home for Kenyan teenage moms and their kids.

As play progressed at Rush Creek Golf Club, cheers erupted at 7th hole. BMW of Minnetonka and PGA Tour Superstore had sponsored hole-in-one contests. Rob Smolund, a member of the Midwest Immunology foursome, with one stroke, had made a hole-in-one! Rob won a BMW M40i two year lease and a $1,000 shopping spree at the PGA Tour Superstore. By the way, his team came in first for the tournament.

Rob did not really need another car so he worked out a financial option with BMW of Minnetonka offering Rob $10,000 in lieu of the car lease. Rob agreed and asked them to split the proceeds and donate $5,000 of it to Imara International, a gracious offer and generous donation! Rob had this to say, “I had my first hole in one in 1973 when I was 13 however my second one was much more satisfying.” What a great example for others to follow.
